Better Than Sex

Tonight we went shopping for a new sink. Then I drove her "home" to her place. Then we sat outside, over cigarettes, and a diet, caffeine-free Coke, discussing politics.

It was serenity, and it was bliss. It has been so long since we enjoyed each other like that. It felt like 1989, when we first met, when we fell in love with each other.

I massaged her feet. We hugged, and kissed, and she caressed my shoulders and arms. She said that she liked feeling my big muscles. I laughed, since I don't have big muscles. She insisted that I do, "strong enough to support an entire family."

Sounds like maybe a new life is coming. I knew that my "old" marriage was dead and that something else replaced it after we were in recovery. Good luck with keeping the good feelings.

Thank you for your honest and sincere blog, and for sharing them with us.
I am so glad for you and for your family that you have had some good, quality time together.
Keep the focus on yourself, and remember that your serenity comes from doing that...the old adage "detach with love" is so true.
You are not responsible for the whims, moods, happiness etc of another.
You are doing great!
Good luck and God bless.
